The next day we went to Shibuya. My dad told me about this place. He says that seen from above, it feels like Tokyo's heartbeat!
We went up a very high tower and stood above the whole city! We could see all around us and I ended up making Japanese friends on the helipad. At first I was shy because I don't speak Japanese, but turns out all you have to do to make friends is to just "go with it", and when I started running, everyone started running!
After that we had lunch. One great thing about Tokyo is that there no matter where you go, there is always great food, so I never got cranky looking for a place to eat.
"No no it's not random. It's that in Japan, when it's time to eat we just go for it! We find a place and it always has great food, it's not like <place fast food restaurant name here>!"
I tried many new foods in Japan. In Tokyo I liked the udon noodles with shrimp tempura the best, but I also tried raw salmon, fish eggs, and even sushi!
Of course it was hard escaping the pet cafes at every corner, specially in Takeshita, so we ended up going into one and I petted several cats. Cats mostly sleep the whole day... but it was nice because it was so hot that day, and they had a/c.
We also found these amazing stairs where at every step there was a shrine, which was nice because it provided great shade.
After meeting a friend of my dad for a snack and some drinks, we headed out for dinner at a Ninja restaurant, which was awesome! The food was actually great, and I was always entertained 🥷
